Hi there I am on the edge of paranoia again. It is all because an idiot has been driving around in his car for the last year shouting out abuse like "gay bay" out of the car window I have ignored him it has only been about twice a month ive seen him. I have never met him before but a week past friday he did it at 7am when I went to get my paper and then on saturday I was coming home and it seemed he was driving down the main road blasted his horn and shouted something he then turned into the estate I decided to go into the block where I live the back way just incase he was at the front and he was at the back alone in his car he muttered something and drove off. He dates a woman who lives in the block occassionally a woman gets into his car first thing in the morning he does not live here. I am now besides myself with worry my imagination has gone wild I am sitting in the house with all the curtains closed and no lights on and I am now getting scared to go out incase I see him. I have his reg number and given it to a friend I am convinced I am going to be murdered. Is this over the top I have tried to do CBT he could have been dropping the woman off at the back as it was afar and by the time I got there that is why I wouldnt see her. The place was deserted at the time so if he wanted to harm me he would have had the opportunity to do it then. It has been going on for a year surely if he was that keen to do something he would have done it by now. Are these logical thoughts? I am too scared to go to police incase it makes matters worse as he does visit my block. I have a history of bipolar and paranoia is my way of thinking irrational? I am trying to do CBT learnt very hard.

I think you might need to go see your GP. I
lol Zacs, as long as it's not me..................
I would be worried, i think. But i think you may have it out of proportion. Are you still being treated for Bipolar? CBT won't help that.
General Practitioner. Not Grand Patents.
I knew what you meant you silly old bugger..............
Sorry, I haven't read the whole post, but just wondered what "gay bay" means???
Less of the silly!
See your GP as soon as possible, gordie and get some help. Let us know how you get on. Don't let some idiot make you afraid of going out. xx

it is gay boy my friend thinks it is just someone having a laugh at my expense
Ah, ok.
He sounds like the mental one, you just sound a bit paranoid. Best thing, get to your GP, get him to prescribe you with some meds. Anti-anxiety will probably do the trick. Best thing I ever did.

It may be, gordie. Don't worry about that **** at the moment. See your GP about the way you're feeling with the paranoia.
Hope your exam results turn out good. Take the advice of others on here, don't let some worthless pratt get you down. Stay strong, Megx
I am going through a phase of staying in the house unless I must go out. It is not to be recommended.

You know your illness and you have probably been at this point before, how did you sort yourself last time?

Are you on a mood stabilizerser? Go see your GO or CPN.

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself" keep thinking this.
I agree with wolf, I know this is very hard - but he has seen your reaction and the horrible twerp is taking pleasure from it. I doubt you have anything to fear from him at all.

As said 'Fear is a wasted emotion'

Try to talk with whoever helps you with your mental health issues.

i'm confused, are you taking your test to ride a motorbike? If you are gay it doesn't matter, no other person on this planet has any right to make comments about you like that, how does he know you are gay? it'#s all rather confusing sorry
Report this idiot to the police and keep a written record of any incidents.....times, places etc. You also need to attend to your mental health.....I think that you know your current thought processes are irrationalad you are feeling unsafe - it gets very hard to practice meaningful cbt techniques under the circumstances you have described. Points of entry for your mental health include going to your gp surgery, community mental health team (to see a duty worker or the access and assessment team) OR a+e if you feel suicidal and/or hopeless/despondent. Don't leave this situation....it is i imperitive that you see somebody. If you are finding things very difficult, talk to a friend/relative/carer and get them to go with you to help express how you are feeling properly. I usually have to write a list down before I go and see my shrink or I forget stuff. Good luck with things and do take care of yourself x
You may be right dotty- I was assuming CBT some sort of treatment (possibly Cognitive based therapy) but it could be the motor cycle CBT test- although I can't see how that would relate to the question.

Anyway, I agree you need to see the doctor, gordie (it's clearly concerning you greatly as this is the third thread I can remember on this) and you need to report it to the police as it has gone on for so long. The police may have a quiet word with him and the harrasment may stop
and methyl.....you need to butt out. you assert that this poster is wasting our time by posting (he is not - this is a q+a website and he is posting in the correct section); that he is in the correct frame of mind to ignore a series of hate crimes (lets call it what it is); that he either isn't mentally ill or can switch it on or off at will (he is and he can't); and either incredible ignorance and/or indifference to somebody else's suffering. Bullying is bullying - and in this case it is also a crime. i can't believe some of the comments you have made.....they are tasteless, crass and offensive (to me) as i have mental health problems and am a mental health professional. if somebody said that about me i would be crushed, and i would certainly never say it to a patient. it's just as well others are here to support geordie.....as others sit on the sidelines and make judgements. and somebody who has done cbt does not have a therapist hanging around to chat with - once you complete the course, you're done with. geordie is obviously coming here for advice and help with sorting out his thoughts and affirmation that he needs to see someone and possibly get his meds sorted out.
