Why does tapping, or stroking the side of your nose induce a sneezing fit.
I first noted it if we tapped the dog's nose, she always sneezed.
Now I note I do too.
My guess is that your impulse to sneeze kicks in when a foreign body enters your nose. If you tap on your nose it feels like something is inside it, so your body musters up a sneeze to get rid of it.
Which bit of your nose are you supposed to tap?
I've tried all over and there's no sign of a sneeze and I don't have a dog to try it out on.
Will it work with a teddy bear?
Back, just watched Mrs Brown.
Why, it was a family joke.
Dog came up for a cuddle, we obliged, saying, stroke stroke, (whilst stroking)
pat pat, whilst patting her head, then bugger off, whilst tapping her nose end, she always sneezed. Then buggered off.
