I posted this at the end of my original thread but it has not appeared on latest posts although it is in my profile
I was sent for a ECG scan Over five weeks ago by a hospital consultant and today I went back for the results only to be told by a very angry consultant that she had not heard from my GP. Mind you I was'nt very pleased myself but I am sure that if there was anything seriously wrong they would have let me know
The consultant told me pretty much what you very knowledgeable ABers said in that it was and that it is a recognised skin condition and prescribed synalar-c and balneum creams plus Antarax tablets to be taken at night. I was asked to return to the hospital in three weeks.
I don't understand how anyone can convince me that I have nothing crawling under my skin when I know that I can feel it. Must be going mad.
Thank you all for your advice and interest.

Leah, did the consultant say that they were writing to the GP to find out what's gone wrong in communication? I wouldn't assume that "if there was anything seriously wrong they would have let me know" - for some reason, the results might never have reached your GP....

Boxtops ,the consultant asked me to go to my GP surgery for the scan, apparently this is how it is done now. Yes the consultant said she would write to him.
Oh I see - so the GP hadn't sent the result of the scan to the consultant? That's poor - most places send results electronically now.

That's right boxtops. Although this is bad, it is nowhere as serious as what happened to my sister

She has to have a very complicated heart operation which could not be carried out locally so she was booked into a hospital several miles away. Her husband booked into a hotel so that it would be easier visiting . She went into the h hospital and was prepared for the

operation the next day. The next morning the surgeon and the anaesthetist came to her room and explained that they could not proceed because the had not received her file. They explained that the surgeon would know what needed doing when he opened her up but the
Anaesthetist needed the full information before he could proceed.

Went back to hospital yesterday and the consultant told me that they still had not heard
from my GP with the result of my ECG. She did say however that it was irrelevant now because she has decided to change the treatment.
Regarding the skin condition, she again said that I was not being bitten, indeed she even brought a Professor in to confirm this. I was prescribed lotions and creams and told not to wash as much, just a light rinse every day.
I really cannot accept this diagnosis even though I accept that they see many cases like mine and the consultant was wonderful trying to convince me. I just feel that I know my own body and can feel things crawling on me and they don't.
This is all making me really depressed , which is not like me but how can I make myself believe what they are saying and does anyone know if this feeling will pass.
Thank you.

Should say that I was also prescribed Amitriptyline tablets 10mg.
