Hi. I've been experiencing some back pain on the right part of my back in the middle. It's not coming from my spine or the usual areas. It doesn't feel like muscle/joint pain it actually feels like it could be the back of my lung? It doesn't hurt to touch, and it's just a dull painful ache. It came on suddenly last week and nearly floored me at first, taking my breath away but then after a couple of days it just stopped. Then it came back late last night when I was in bed, and I could not get comfortable for it, nothing seemed to ease it, and I managed little sleep. When I got up this morn, it was very painful, so much that it felt a task just to speak. I'm not breathless with it, or feverish and other than that I'm generally fit and well. If I take painkillers, it takes the edge off, but it does not remove the pain altogether. I'm a 43yr old woman, and shamefully yes I'm a smoker, despite many attempts at giving up (last one failed just last week!)
You can get some referred pain in your back from some conditions. I remember having horrible burning pain which spread through to my back when I had gallstones
Have you any other symptoms you might not associate with back pain?
Hi Thanks for replies, yes you's are right I prob just do need a doc - I am terrible though, have such a hectic work/school schedule I never seem to have time. Eve, I don' have any other symptoms whatsoever, I'm really quite well though I'm not very fit - but on fitness thing now, diet, excersise (again) then to give up smoking (again)!
