Grandson's Toilet Problem.

We look after our 3 year old grandson a couple of times a week and it is worrying us that when he uses his potty he is producing enormous 'poos'.
Can't believe that such a little bottom could pass anything like this. He has fairly recently become more or less 'potty trained' Doesn't like using the toilet. For three days he is in nursery for 11 hours a day! and has a baby brother of 9 months. He was quite distressed today - passing a lot of wind and straining quite a lot. When he is here he has lots of fruit and veg and has a good appetite and drinks a lot. Don't want to appear as over-anxious grandparents but after having three boys of our own have never seen anything like these giant 'poos'. Sorry for the indelicacy of the question but can't find anything on the net.

My teenaged-son would occasionally inform me not to be surprised/startled by the 'monster' lurking in the bathroom and assure me that he had done his best to 'send it on its way'.

It's hardly the same thing as having a 'discussion' about it! :o)
Jordyboy - As you seem to regularly forget the rules of Answerbank, I seek merely to remind you of them and hopefully prevent you from additional suspensions/bans.

It is part of my being a lovely person, as you have so kindly pointed out.......

If I was a Moderator I'd probably have zapped you entirely by now.

As Jack says. It's info...not major discussions.

Pompous reply from one ABer to another....don't you think?

I didn't say that.

3years old and at nursery 11 hours 3 days a week. that's seems a long time.

The child is shy & needs help to accept this normal function. Let him see you go.

If he is bound, teach him to sway his head and torso while on loo.

If you make the subject of bowel changes a taboo, they will never reveal if they have a problem. It is a bodily function we all perform so why treat it any differently.

Make it clear they can tell you anything, as a parent you need to be unshockable.
Some leave their best in the pan - lol

Tambo, well either teach them to flush or get a plumber in.
Well Jordy, my opinion concerning a certain ABer's response to you has be ,,,"deleted".

it would seem that opinions against "certain" ABers are unacceptable.
Maybe that would depend on the section they are posted in!!
