I'm 40 weeks 2 days today but still no baby. I'm ginormous and there is so little room in there for baby that every movement is magnified and I actually feel bruised from the inside. Se doesn't appear to actually sleep that much either.

I've tried hot baths, curries, long walks (almost impossible) but hubby is not prepared to do the deed, and I can't blame him.

I know she'll come when she comes but I am pretty miserable now. And daily texts from friends and family don't bloody help.

Harumph!

Ah! I was going to say - you're braver than me, then! I'm sure it will be soon . Everybody i know that has been given an induction date for lateness has had the baby naturally beforehand. Wish you both all the best xx
Sorry, all 3 of you! I left your husband out as i was annoyed he wouldn't help you :-)
Oh dear don't worry nature will do her bit. As for the sex bit I actually thought it was an orgasm that helped rather than sex per se :-)
I can't really offer any words of wisdom, other than to say I had a planned c-section and it was great! Don't worry if your birth doesn't go as you planned. As long as you and the baby are well at the end of it, that is all that matters.

I know it's uncomfortable during the last few weeks but your baby will be here soon enough, and then you'll forget all of this. You might even want to do it again!

Trust me, it's all worth it.

Butcher, caster oil isn't recommended these days as it can start you off too quickly and distress the baby.

Thanks Pixie ;-)

Soap, there are quite a few reasons why I don't want a section. But what will be will be.

I have been getting some pains that have been reasonably eye watering so now I'm cacking it about labour. Oh nothing can please me at the moment! Poor hubby's getting the brunt.
"poor hubby"? You won't be saying that in a few hours. It's started then?
Question Author
Sorry excelsior I missed your post. Thanks for your kind words. She's our first and much wanted after a few unsuccessful pregnancies...so I really shouldn't moan. I have had a very easy pregnancy this time around, even though classed as high risk due to my age. Hopefully a boringly normal pregnancy will soon move into a boringly normal birth!
Question Author
No, poor hubby getting the brunt of my moaning!!

my best wishes will be with you

will you be kind enough to come back afterwards and let us know mother and baby are ok?
When you go into labour just let your body do what your body wants to do. Don't fight anything. It will all be worth it and will be forgotten about in seconds. The joy will be immense and for a lifetime.
Oh. I was wondering about your "eyewatering pains"...
Question Author
Pains are very few and far between though. I thought we were off last night when I woke up with a contraction. But that was it and I fell back to sleep! A bumpy car ride had me squeaking in pain too but, again, it stopped.

Sycamore, that's what you're told at hypnobirthing. Apparently its the fear that exacerbates the pain so if you can chill out as much as poss it will be easier.

Well let you know excelsior xx
Well that makes it all the more special meglet. My daughter was 2 and a half years in the making! I wish you all the best. Don't worry about the birth. Stupid for me to say I know, because i had a c-section so i cheated, and of course you are scared. but trust me, whatever it is like, you really wont care as soon as they pass you that lovely baby. Just focus on what you will be getting at the end of it. Good luck.
I had to read that hypnobirthing word more than twice then because I thought it Said hypo birth and I wondered how you knew my daughter was 8lb 12 born so she was on the biggish side. With regard to chilling my daughter was my 2nd child so I knew what to expect. But the advice is correct. Just let it happen and don't worry.
My daughter was 2 weeks late so I know how you feel, but I would just like to say that you will forget all about it once she arrives, so just relax, watch tv and start a good book.
I hope meglet is not posting because she is in labour/has had her baby.
