Another of my few remaining teeth came adrift during a meal last night. Unfortunately, it was one of two which acted as the anchors for my partial bridge. I can't ignore this, as I did last time I lost a tooth, so I'm thinking of dentures. I know they couldn't be as steady as natural teeth but just how loose are they? Are foods like crusty bread to become a thing of the past?

If they fit properly you shouldn't have a problem. The denture can always be re-lined a few months after an extraction as the gums may shrink a little.
Sorry to say that question is like 'How long is a piece of string?'

Some patients will be able to eat almost anything, whilst others struggle even with the use of a fixative. It is dependant upon so many factors and is unique to that individual.
Could you have an implant to replace the one that has gone?
I have implants; they're expensive but seem to have done the trick. It was that or yoghurt for the rest of my life.

I think the solution has just came to me. I'll get a new bridge made which anchors to another tooth. Though I'm aware that I'm running out of suitable teeth.
