Blood Sugar Levels
25 Answers
Ten-year-old son complained yesterday of being "always thirsty". Out of interest, i, er, asked to borrow client's blood sugar machine (as you do) and have now scared myself. His reading is 14.9. Have tried to google normal range for children, but getting contradictory answers. Do i need to book a GP appointment?

Seems borderline/ normal to me, but with the history of "always thirsty" I would get an appt for to your GP.......... .no urgency.

It's high according to this, but don't take our word for it, not an expert http:// www.dia betes.c o.uk/di abetes_ care/bl ood-sug ar-leve l-range s.html
I'd see the GP or practice nurse, and they'll take a little blood for testing.
