which would hurt more getting a tattoo at the bottom of my back or my hip type area? I don't like pain....

No. It feels uncomfortable rather than painful, the "pain" is just a way of mums warning kids not to get them.

It's certainly not pleasant, but it's by no means unbearable.

I dont know if this is true, although i believe it, and it dose'nt really answer your question so please forgive me. Someone told me years ago that the most painfull place to have a tattoo is on the palm of your hand.

 i've got some and they all hurt, by and large i think the fleshier the body part the more painful!...so i would say the bottom of the back would be less painful than the thigh

I had one on my ankle which hurt more than the one on my tummy cos of the vibration of the needle closer to the bone..in 6 months time you'll will have forgotten the pain and hopefully have a nice tattoo,and if like me find them slightly addictive,I stopped at 5.

my friendhad one done on the bottom of her back and said it was verypainful she fainted , but everyones pain threshhold is different the one on my shoulder blade hurt me but the one on my stomach didnt.

my friend had a one the other week on her hip area. said it was incredibly painful cos it was close to the bone. hmm. maybe shes just a wimp...

I have a tattoo on the bottom of my back and also on the inside of my wrist.  believe it or not, my back was more painful, however its bearable pain.  The first couple of minutes are the worst, but once your bodies natural painkillers kick in its more annoying than sore.

But beware...Like Lozzzz said, they're addictive, im already planning my next one......!

I got 14 tatts, none really hurt but everyones pain threshold is different, go for it and don't be afraid to ask the tattooist to stop for a while if you need to, take a sip of water etc

i have 4 tatoos, 1 on each upper arm, 1 on my left ankle, and 1 on my right bum cheek. all of them hurt but the one that hurt me the least was the one on my bum, i think because its squishy, they hurt most when they are near a bone but i think its mostly a mind thing, u can really feel the needle tapping against ur bone so u think it hurts more then it does. but im a baby so it hurt me. it felt like someone was stickin a red-hot needle in and dragging it thru my skin, as soon as the out line is done the colouring isnt so bad, u can hardly feel it
