It's all eerily calm here in Sussex. The storm didn't really arrive here in any great strength. We were quite lucky I think. I saw all the TV pics of the various parts of the UK and they all seemed to be in dire straits. I hope everyone is ok this morning. xx
Goodly morning Jan xxx

and to everyone who pops in on this snowy morn.

Hope all is well with you x

Hi alba xx You have snow? I spoke to friends in Upper Largo in Fife and they had some snow yesterday too. I assume the high winds have now all gone ?
Thankfully, it's calmed down.

From what I saw happening throughout parts of the UK, we got off lightly in our little corner.
Yesterday was vicious in parts.

Better go and get ready. Meeting a few walking friends and we're off for a 5 mile walk at 6.30. Nothing to strenuous , just a 5 miler today. Then of course, we'll go and have breakfast somewhere and undo all the good work. Nobody else about this morning Alba. Just thee n' me, lass See you tomorrow ? xx
Morning Jan, morning sweetpea. No problems with the storms as far as I personally go but my heart goes out to the people down the coast in the Rhyl area - hit again by the combination of storms and exceptionally high tides. Work colleague has been badly affected - they have about a foot of water running through their property and they are on the outer edges of the flood area. Not going to be a very merry xmas for them.
Enjoy the walk Jan xxx

I've just heard the port of Dover is closed, so take care on the south coast xx

Morning yorkie man. Just caught you before I disappeared. As you say, some poor souls were hit really hard yesterday. My heart goes out to them.

Some blue bird has apparently fallen over the white cliff .... lol
Morning Jan xx Albs xx welshie xx
I have to depart as well - MD is in already.......... and on the prowl. May pop back later but if not, have a great weekend and i'll probably see you Monday morning. Stay warm - stay safe
Morning Sweetcheeks xx Morning Minty xx

I'm sorry to hear about your colleague Sweetcheeks :-(
Flood water is dirty stuff.
Very still here now, but there has been a fair bit of damage, spent yesterday helping neighbour , up ladders putting on emergency new felt on his summerhouse, picking up glass , broken pots and taking down the fence that was blown over, other neighbour has lost much of her ridge and hopefully it will be repaired today or shell lose the lot if the wind returns. On top of intermittent power cuts all day it was not good yesterday, then snow !!
goodly grief Sweetcheeks, I thought you weren't supposed to start until 7 anyway?!
Bye welshie xx
Albs I'd be on a work to rule if I were welshie !
Morning jan xxx albs xxx welshie and minty. xxx

Luckily we missed it all here, not even any rain to speak of. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the storms. You just can't argue with nature can you.
I am after xmas..........
Have a happy day jan xxxxx

Have a good'un welshie
Minty, they (bosses) are really taking the p.

Do you think thee and me should go and form a picket line outside to support him?

The young alba's pal has arrived and said it's a skating rink outside, a few mins later a gritter has trundled along.
