I know this can be a sign of early pregnancy but we have been using condoms since my coming off the pill. I also know that condoms are not 100% safe and do realise the implications of being pregnant, but wondered if this could be my hormones going haywire after coming off the pill about a month ago?
I was always led to believe that the pill numbs your period side effects and thought that perhaps it could be just a normal symptom of the oncoming of a period?
Thanks in advance!
Oh and the pill was microgynon if that helps!
My nipples went unbelievably sore (and sensitive, which isn't such a bad thing) too after coming off the pill, but it subsides, don't worry. Didn't get the birdie rash though, but it all sounds entirely plausible that it could be linked. I'd go and see your GP just to be safe.
And you do realise that the fact that you warned guys off reading on will just make more of them read your post, don't you?!
Natalie - I used to get "birdie rash" when I was in my early teens then was clear for ages. Ranomly got it again the other week - rrrrrrrrrrrrrr SO annoying! Take advantage of the summer and go pant-less as often as poss. Definitely don't wear anything too tight (so no tights, but stockings of course are fine) especially not at night. That should stop it coming back.
I've been on the pill longer than I care to remember (as you remember I'm your age almost exactly) and so I wouldn't know if it's just an effect of coming off the pill.
I'd also advise changing your condom brand - just to see if it is that.
Good luck! (PS - Least you're getting some!! :-p)
Hi Natalie, this same thing happened to me, the nipples are the worst cause they are so sensitive its unbeleivable. I ended up getting thrush as well, it must just be a side effect of the hormones leaving your system, just use the usual creams etc and it should clear up completely. I was using Jasmine pill so I don't think its just your type of pill.
