I have a stinking cold.

I know that I just have to ride it out, and that there is no cure for the common cold, but is there really anything that I can take to make me feel just a little bit more human?

lemsip max strength capsules
Hot whisk(e)y? With lemon of course :-)
Thing 1 has got a stinking cold, temperature and sore nose - the more she cries the worse her nose is getting (she's even cried when I suggested staying home from school tomorrow). She's in bed watching a Barbie DVD. Hope you feel better soon.

I'll try the lemsip capsules, thanks Mojo.

Ahh, a hot toddy would go down a treat! Don't really drink much, but as it's good for my health I'll give it a go sibs!

Feel like such a wimp whining about a blooming cold!
What, sibs said ^ but with honey as well..

Poor Thing 1, sher! I hope she gets better soon, might try a Barbie DVD myself.
A cold always makes me feel really miserable, I hope it eases soon. In the meantime you need something to ease the discomfort xx
any drink that is hot, steamy and fumey will help to clear your tubes out, a but of sharpness with help with a sore throat and paracetamol to ease the aches and pains.

Thank you all for your answers and sympathy.

Although I had expected at least one ABer to tell me to pull myself together, it's only a cold!

lol sibs!

He was actually who I had in mind, but maybe I'm on his hit list!
Lemsip max for daytime, it works a treat; but beware of the caffeine content before bed. Take lemsip powder in hot water at night.

Also do drink lots and lots of fluid as it flushes it out.
I had a heavy cold last month which refused to go away even after 3 weeks of constant remedies.
I was told to try 'Night Nurse' green syrup before bed. It went away after 3 days once I started taking it. I now call it Miracle Juice.
Definitely worth a go but read the label before taking it as it's not suitable for everyone.
Get well soon and drink plenty of water.
We swear by Beechams All in One - it's wonderful stuff, we always keep a bottle in the medicine chest.
