It took a while to get back to normal, but certainly not as long as seven weeks.

Hi thanks for your answers, i have been to my GP who advised me to wait till i see the surgeon, which is at the end of february, i had the surgery on the 18th of december 2013, a total of 9 weeks after surgery. my GP did say that although the tear has been removed the artheritus is worse then originally thought. once again thanks for your replies. How are you doing diamond. Are you getting any better. I was going to add to others posts earlier but decided to wait as I have been waiting for same op as you have had. Am same age and also have osteoarthritis of knee. I go in tomorrow for repair surgery. Any info as to when you were allowed to do any weight bearing and post op exercises you have been given. Before I accepted cancellation I asked about hols as I have 7 weeks from op before I go away with a friend on a coach tour to Scotland. (leaving OH behind for a few days!!)
Wondered how things are now having had the same op as you. I was recovering quite well although still needing to use sticks but then I injured my opposite knee on Good Friday and have not managed without sticks since the op. I went for review appointment on operated right knee and whilst there consultant examined my recently injured left one. He injected it with a steroid and ordered a scan which I have a week tomorrow. I had a copy of his report which he sent to GP and from it I think I have suffered a meniscus tear but scan will confirm. So looks like sometime in future will no doubt require surgery again.
