An elderly neighbour keep a can of Diesel in his hallway, "just in case" he says.
I can smell it really strongly if I go to his door.
Could this be a health hazard to him? It concerns me a little, he is not in the best of health anyway.

In case of what, ferlew, has he said why ?.
Gawd I should imagine that his house reeks of it.

In case he runs out, or thinks he is running low, he says. Yes, it smells awfully strong in there.
I had the idea (lord knows where I got it from) that it could affect the brain ??
The smell is fairly harmless but it's a sign that the can is not fully airtight. Keeping fuel in the house is illegal in the UK since it's a fire hazard - especially if the can leaks.

Many thanks, I don't suppose he is aware of that, I wasn't.
I'll offer him to put it in our garage, and give him a key.
