I'm currently contemplating sleeping with my boss.  We've kissed before and although I thought it would be really awkward it wasnt and there was something really arousing about having the shared secret.

I'm certain he's having the same thoughts about me but the sensible part of me tells me never to go there, ever.  The wicked side is dying for it to happen.

Is it profesional suicide?  Has anyone done it and what was the outcome?

I'm not after a relationship with him, just some good fun sex.

Depens on your boss and what the feelings are afterwards, it could be profesional suicide, Go for it tho, if you want to happen and you think he does, go for it and enjoy yourself. Depends on how good your job is also, if you earn good money and you are in a good job, and dependant on your job. But if its not so good and you can quite easilly find a similar to yours, go for it!

God, it's so risky though, because he's the boss. Do you care about your job? If you do and there are good prospects, I probably wouldn't risk it. But it's up to you of course, no one else. Also, what if you just want sex and he wants something more, what then? He could make life very awkward for you if you don't both want the same thing, because he's in charge. At the moment he's nice to you, but that could change.

yes, there's an imbalance of power here; he can do things to you that you can't do to him (not in bed I don't mean), which isn't the best foundation for even a non-relationship. What have you got to lose? Well, only you know the answer to that one.
Is it worth losing your job and getting a lousy reference and rep? I am not being censorious but if boss turns nasty, he can give you a fabbo reference on paper(or only a so so one) combined with verbal comments that will effectively kill your career. If you really fancy the guy then change jobs first and then go for it.
Have you not heard the saying "Don't dip your pen in the company ink"

I agree that changing jobs might be a good idea. Not only could the imbalance of power be a bad thing, but other people at work may start wondering whether you're there because of your ability or because you sleep with the boss. Do you have any company policy about this? Where I work couples are not allowed to work in the same branch (apparantly there has been problems in the past).

Don't do anything if there is the remotest chance you might later regret it.

And if he's married - stay well clear.

No woman is going to be short of offers if she just wants good fun sex!  Why on earth choose your boss for this?! If you genuinely had feelings for him and could see a relationship developing (I'm assuming he's single) then I might say take the risk. Otherwise avoid sex with your boss like the plague if you care about the consequences at work!
