Mic and I have been married over 34 years. When either of us used the bathroom we never commented on what we did whilst in there. To us it was go in close the door and come out when you have finished doing what you went in to do in the first place.
Since Mic has been home he is having toilet trouble. Today I was asked before he had his stroke did he have trouble urinating. I said don't know.
What do you mean you don't know. My answer, we never discussed such matters. He said after 34 years you never spoke of these things. No said I.
Please tell me it's not just us.

Why would they ask you if he had trouble urinating?
Men seem to be a bit reticent about such things .I had no idea my husband had a prostate problem until the morning he said he couldn't pee and I had to call an ambulance when he collapsed . I did wonder about the frequent bathroom visits but when I questioned him he just brushed it aside and changed the subject .Said I was nagging ! I also had no idea he had anal cancer until I realised he was losing weight and shuffled him off to the doctors .He didn't tell me anything about his bathroom habits .
I'm a bit more open about stuff like that .

Because he's having trouble now Elvis.
Bathroom is the one place that can be totally private, if you wish. That's how I like it to be anyway, you are in majority I think jeza x
possible prostrate problem prior to illness ?
The males in my household have no probs discussing toilet habits.
if it's a big problem, yes (I had my only attack of severe constipation last year and I had to ask OH to seek advice from the chemist because I was lying down sweating with pain). Minor problems no - but then we wouldn't normally discuss minor problems of any sort, because they're minor. Trouble urinating? No, I don't think that's something either of us would bother talking about, mostly because there's nothing either of us could do for the other.

So you sound normal to me.

Shaney, please tell me the outcome was good.
I did text the missus once when I was upstairs and there was no loo roll
dump her elvis, what good housewife would not have spare loo rolls available
Credit where credit 's due anne, she did throw one up the stairs
It was Jeza .Thank goodness and the NHS. He went throught the mill though and it's been life changing for both of us. He's just waiting for one last test to have the all clear .
Best wishes to you and Mic.

Very pleased for you Shaney. Thanks for the good wishes.
I understand what my father was talking about when he said: " we're not really English..."

Aliens I think he meant
O Elvis if you are ever caught short or without paper in my house, there are around 12 behind the bath - I would never be without them !
A month or so after we were married, my MIL asked me if he was "regular". I almost made a comment which would not have been correct, but in the same bodily area! She seemed appalled that I didn't know, she seemed to expect a checklist. He does tend to share too much information regarding his bowels though and gets offended when I couldn't care less!
peter. what does that comment mean re your father ?
Only when my Mrs warns me to avoid going into the loo for a few minutes to give the smell time to clear.
You should care though Zebo.
I wish my husband had shared his bowel habits sooner rather than later then perhaps he wouldnt be living with a permanent stoma these days .
Eddie, invest in a box of matches.
