I have had really painful feet for years. They throb all the time (the soles) even when I have not walked at all. Walking on them first thing in the morning is the worst. It's not particularly heel pain so I didn't think it was plantar fasciitis. The pain gets worse on weight bearing even for a few seconds. I thought it could be linked with slipped discs, ulcerative colitis arthritis but wondered if anyone here had had similar symptoms? I rarely walk cos of pain and wonder if this is making it worse. I wear very sensible Clarkes with insteps from the podiatrist.

So has the podiatrist seen your feet and attempted a diagnosis? The only time I've felt a throbbing pain in my foot, made worse by weight bearing, was when I had a verruca but I doubt that's what you have. Sounds miserable.

Podiatrist said I was walking funny as I have knock knees caused by arthritis in both knees, but gave me inserts. They haven't helped unfortunately.

Have you tried the Memory Foam insoles ? which seem to ease my feet.
Are they red, swollen, are you on any medication,is there any underlying medical condition e.g diabetes........??

I agree with methyl's first sentence.
Question Author
Thanks all- Sqad, not red or swollen although my ankles do swell but I think that's more like humidity. Not diabetes. Medical condition ulcerative colitis, arthritis in knees, lots of probs with joints, hypermobility, slipped discs in lower back; I take asthma inhalers and omeprazole for hiatus hernia.

Oh and I also seem to be very flat footed.
Scarlett...thanks for that info.......I would go with the Podiatrists.
Question Author
Thanks Sqad- I have seen him a few times and each time he just gives me the same insoles which haven't made a difference. He seems as puzzled as me. the only time my feet stopped throbbing was when I fasted!
