Sore Shoulder

Had shoulder pain for 6 weeks or so, It's not bad during day and I can knit without any discomfort,but when I go to bed It gets worse,like a hot ball inside it. voltarol gel helped to start with doesn't give relief for long,also tried ibuprofen retard with the same result, wondered if a Sports spray painkiller would help? Has anyone tried it ?

I am not a great advocate of trans dermal analgesics ( gels etc) and I would suggest that if your problem is only at night, then take your analgesic by mouth...(.tablet form).

Thanx methyl,had such a crap night I spoke to my GP,advise brufen retard,plus voltarol rub,and suggested I ask for physio,so hopefully will get some joy now.As to what decade,let's put it this way,I'm a recycled teenager over 65! Tee hee-
