During the last three weeks, I have had two episodes of severe allergic reaction to something or other. Not anaphylactic but bad enough. Both times, I awoke with swollen, almost closed eyes, swollen lips and puffy face. I had dreadful headaches too.

I have been taking anti histamines since the first episode, even so, my eyelids are still red and sore. My GP prescribed anti histamine eye drops and hydrocortisone cream. I am getting better but still feel lousy.

Am I still fighting off whatever it was? Is that why I feel so rough?

You have made the correct diagnosis...... an allergic reaction........and your GP has given the appropriate treatment.........don't worry.

I'm not worried, sqad. I just feel so wretched. How long before I begin to feel like my old self?
Thanks for responding.

About another week I would say.

My old self is ' fit as a proverbial fiddle'.

I'll take some more ibuproren and anti histamines and monitor the situation shall I?

Roll on next week.
Thanks again.

When I had a similar reaction I was given a week's course of steroids, felt right as rain pretty quickly. Perhaps go back to GP if you don't feel better soon?
Can't help, just want to wish you well again soon, xxx
Get well soon, Yilly.
Why do we suddenly become allergic to something? At the age or 59 I was given Anti-Bi's by me dentist. Result, terrible itching, very hot and unable to swallow. Not taken them since. I hope I don't need to.
