hippy, I'm 52, on Cerrazette, so no periods , going through the change, but still fertile, the doc did a blood test.
a couple of years ago i was exactly the same so I can sympathise with you.
Every thing made me cry, someone being nice to me, someone annoying me, a sad story in a mag or on Tv, a happy story in a mag or on tv, the dog being naughty, the dog smiling at me, evrything, I think I kept kleenex in business,
It does get better believe me.
I found that St johns wort helped, but check if you are on other meds as they sometimes dont mix. x x
It will pass. Horrible when it's there but great when it's over.
Horses for courses, everyone is different, I'm a year older than you and have no symptoms of menopause at all.

Thanks ladies, for your answers... in bloody tears just reading them.. For Funks Sake Diana, reign yourself in....
I started symptoms around 41 and still have them at 61.
Aw, good luck hippy, menopause is not something I'm looking forward to, have you been to the docs for a blood test?
Go to the doctors and explain your symptoms. A blood test will show if you are menopausal. Then you will know and have a reason for all your crying. Believe me, it happened to me. It was dreadful but now it's over and things are very much better.
At the age of 35 ish my periods stopped, just like that finished. I'm nearly 64 now no symptoms no nothing. I guess I've been lucky.
Are you sure it's the meno? My DIL had to have her coil taken out due to being tearful all the time. Appears to ave solved it, she's a lot happier now.
hippy, the other symptom I had, not very often thankfully was odd....panic attacks I suppose you would call them,
I am one of the most, sensible ,logical, grounde people I know, I am the one who goes around sorting out everbody elses probs,
so when i found my self sat in the garden at 4 in the morning, because I felt like i was suffocating in the house, it was totally alien to me and very scary.
When I spoke to my Mum she said both her and My Aunt were exactly the same, which put my mind at rest.
Mum went and got me some Potters Newrelax tablets which I only took when I was nervous or felt worried and they helped immensely.
I carry a few in my bag now but haven't needed them for months now. X X
Just keep reminding yourelf, that whatever symptoms you have now, they will not last forever. X X
...or pregnant?
Google 'project aware menopause' and it will take you to a very helpful and informative site.
Make sure you put 'menopause' in otherwise it will take you to a site about sharks!!
46 and already been through the menopause, I started when I was in my late 30s and haven't had a period for nearly 4 years now. The hot flushes are still present but getting fewer and further between now. I never really got weepy but did get angry and quite irritable. I also went right off sex unfortunately for my other half. :-/

I can't imagine that just being weepy is a sign of impending menopause.
If it is..... I am a huge advocate of HRT, it did wonders for me. I never had any symptoms after I started on the patches.
You say you have a coil fitted? Is it a Mirena? If so, under no circumstances have it removed.
A friend of mine had one fitted and she asked for a blood test to see if she was pre menopause. When the results came back her GP said she had gone through the menopause about 2 years earlier and was over it. She had no symptoms whatsoever simply because of the Mirena coil.
