Trying To Avoid Doctor.. :-)
16 Answers
I have been feeling mega tired for a couple of months now - been trying to ignore it.
Now having muscular pain and tired muscles. I am a bit breathless too.
I suspect that it is Anaemia or my thyroid. I don't want to go to see doctor if I can avoid it. My GP is great but it is cold and I would have to walk and ...excuses, excuses.....
I have to go see doctor and nurse to get diabetes and lithium check ups the week after next. I hope that someone will reassure me that whatever is wrong won't get worse or kill me before then.

Sqad - thanks too. I was found to be anaemic last year, the number 9 pops into my head, with no obvious cause. Lithium can, as you know, screw up the Thyroid.
Can't get a normal appt for weeks. Just been on phone and it is emergencies only today. Will avoid Ibuprofen and monitor the situation.

Khandro - medication keeps me going.
Three HBP medications
Lansoprosol (spelling? tummy acid tablets)
Statins
Metformin
SSRI
Lithium
Anne - I tried to get an appointment today and there is nothing. I will try again tomorrow. I don't feel terribly ill but there is something not quite right.
When I go to the diabetes clinic I see the nurse one day and the doctor at the end of that week. That is the week after next. If all else fails I can get it sorted then.
Worse than this - I have to take young Frankie to the v-e-t next week for a steroid jab. Easy to get an appointment but difficult to get the patient there.

slaney - no, it was picked up during my regular blood/Lithium check. My diet is abysmal but other than that there was no obvious reason.
I am 51 and female - my periods were incredibly heavy a couple of years ago, they vanished for a year and then I have had two light ones in last few months. That seems not to be the cause.
I am happy that my mental health is (relatively) stable at present and that is important. The physical problems are an annoyance.
I am very indecisive at present about most things and it is a case of
1. Do I bite the bullet and make a same day appointment to see the doc. I like preplanned appointments.
2. Do I wait until the 2nd and see the nurse and the follow up by the doctor on the 5th.
Anne - I am sure that he listens in on my phone conversations. Fat Feline Frankie can vanish in the flat when he wants to - usually on v-e-t day.

Sqad may say, I don't know, but all those medications or combinations of them may lead to tiredness, have you checked their side effects?
For a recent badly sprained ankle I was prescribed Diclofenac, which was marvellous, reduced the swelling and killed the pain, but after a few hours left me feeling exhausted and completely debilitated, I have given them up and am allowing nature to take its course, which it thankfully is.

I wasn't sure how to answer this then I saw who it was. As you know I have problems and I made the mistake of just assuming it was one thing when it wasn't that. As such it endended up being more serious than it could have. Obviously I hope I am miles off that it is serious, but don't just avoid finding out.
