I have been using OPI but the top coat is chipping a lot. Can someone tell me why and what topcoat and base coat do you recommend please? Just a normal manicure, not gel.

I like Barry M, though I always gel my nails now.
The Sally Hansen range is good as well.

Are you feeling OK Sqad ...?
A tip to help with chipping.
Once you've applied the nail polish do a sweep along the top edge of your nail and brush smooth again. If the tip is sealed it chips less.
Another vote for Sally Hansen here - glad all us girls agree.
No....I have just bought this new under wired bra and it is cutting into my skin..........

I have heard good reports about Sally Hansen. Any particular product Frog?
Yer moods are too big Sqad. Get yourself a vest bra. At your age it'll offer better support ;)

Bless Sqad I know the feeling.
I like the diamond strength top coat smurfchops, but they're all good in their own way

Thanks Frog. Off to Boots I go.
The top coat is only as strong as your nails. If you have soft, flexible nails (as I have) then nothing will stop your varnish from chipping and flaking. I wore my new OPI varnish to work the other day (with Sally Hansen top coat) and it lasted about 4 hours.

My nails arent flexible, they are very hard... But they tend to break very low at the sides. I have found that daily applications of Solar Oil helps and stops the sides breaking.
