Having been single for a very long time (guess and then triple it) I was wondering how did you meet your current partner? Through work? At a club? Did you know instantly there was a spark, or did one of you have to do some chasing?

I simply haven't met anyone for such a long time, and I am beginning to think it is me giving out the wrong vibes. I am not desperate in the least- quite the opposite in fact! Maybe that is the trouble!

I would be very inerested in your answers. How did you meet and get together with your current partner?

Hey Scarlett... can't help I'm afraid... but just want to let you know that you're not the only one... I'm in the same situation so will be interested in reading everyone's responses!! :-)
i met mr b13thy in his kitchen. i had gone over to see his brother  (they shared a house) and didn;t know that he lived there as well. In the kitchen a mutual friend introduced us and he has said since that he saw something in our eyes when we saw each other (i know, its sick inducing) As soon as we met i think we both knew that we were meant to be together as i didn't leave that night and as yet still haven't
Hi Scarlett. I met my boyfriend when i was on a girls holiday in Magaluf when we were both 19, we'd been there a couple of days and him and his friends moved into the appartment next to ours. We came in at about 7 one morning and they were sitting on the balcony, everyone went to bed apart from me and him so we talked until 8 that evening and then went out again, where he got drunk and sick so i took him back to the hotel and looked after him all night. He was from West Brom and im from near Leeds, when we got home we went to each others houses every weekend and then after a year he moved in with me and my parents,we've been together 3 years now, we have a house together and i couldnt be happier!! it really does happen when you least expect it!  Just be happy and confident, people will see this. and dont be afraid to make the first move what have you got to loose. xx

I met mr boobesque after the pub i used to go in had someone throw a bucket of pee and pooh in it, i started going back to a regular old haunt and after visiting many times, i went on a different day and saw a very cute barman, went in the next week and waved, didnt see him a while so gave my number to another bar man to give to him, after much texting he told me he had a girlfriend so i told him to eff-off, got with someone who i knew liked me and told mr boobesque who admitted playing hard to get and lying about said girlfriend, so we arranged a date, didnt happen, arranged another and again one of us couldnt make it, so we decided to just be friends who have sex, i agreed cos i really liked him (awful i know) and he decided to tell me he did want a relationship when he thought i fancied someone else lol, we finally had THE best first date ever and moved in together after 4 months, that was a year ago and we are about to buy a place and get married!

phew, i never thought we would get together and although not a big believer in fate, soooo many things pushed us in the right direction.

good luck, you will find someone, i didnt think anyone would want me as a single parent to a disabled child and i found the love of my life x

Have you tried the Dating Service on the Net.I personally have heard of a few which have worked. Also a friend and I clubbed together to put a 'Lonely Hearts' in the local paper and what a response. She ended up going out with one of the guys for years.I had young kids at the time so I was a commitment phobic but I had a lovely meal with the guy and I passed on his number to my other pal and she ended up with him for a couple of years.

I met my hubby when my ex insisted I needed a night out.Saw him in the pub - first time I'd seen him for years and that was it!!!So I can safely say my ex-husband was instrumental. Its been a rollercoaster but soooo much fun!Good Luck and bite the bullet.

Ooh don't get me wrong, I am not in the least bit bothered nor desperate! Internet dating makes me shiver at the thought! I am not "looking" at all! I was just curious, because people seem to just meet each other. I have a friend and she is always with some bloke or other. She just meets people! In my work and social life I simply have not met anyone for a very long time! Nobody has come along! It's weird. At university I met LOADS of people cos I was surrounded by like-mindeds- lots of young people in one place. It's just curious that simply nobody has come along in such a long time!
i met mr mullein at an raf disco..someone had talked me into a blind date!! well when this blind date appeared i thought thanks but no thanks..so i looked around the bar and saw mr m   with some woman..so i thought he will do..so i went over sat between him and this woman told him to fetch me a drink...and the rest is history that was 29 years and 6 months ago...oh by the way the woman made a hasty exit...you will meet someone perhaps you just need to widen your horizons a bit..and some one will appear ...i dont like the sound of internet dating either..as some people will tell you anything..and you may not believe what they say but its hard to find the truth..people on the internet can say anything as no one can see them..its risky...you could allways write to a soldier in iraq as a penpal!!

We met at a friend's wedding - corny, but true.
Hello Scarlett, I met Mr Gucci at work, it was his first day in my office, in fact it was his first job in London and our eyes met across the monitors and that was that!
buddy...i am not a raf girl..just because i married someone serving in the forces does not make me..part of it..and i didnt wheedle myself either i calmly sat down and talked for england..like i normally do..also i have great intuition and liked mr mulleins face..as hes kind..also you cant compare someone in the armed forces which mr m was in.. to some of the psychos you could meet on the internet..at least in the forces they have discipline and have to behave accordingly or out they go..and 29 years ago people were different to now..and i have allways had great confidence and have asked people out in my youth if i wanted to...i am my own person and like my own company and space..

I was a strong believer in fate at the time and figured that if anything was going to happen it would come to me as I satyed in I got invited to and met mine at a fancy dress party, she was dressed as a police woman, ha ha.  Although we didn't see each other for a while after when we finally did meet up again we dated for while and are now seeing each other properly.

Hiya, i met my fiance in a nightclub, where i was on the dancefloor...he had accepted a bet to try a cheesy chat up line on me because his mates thought i would turn round and slap him. So after the line "Do you wanna go out for pizza and sex" left his mouth and he burst out laughing and walked away, leaving me very puzzled as i had been eyeing him up earlier on...i took the plunge and went to speak to him and we have been inseperable ever since, instant spark, talked for nearly 3 hours that first night, even though we were in a nightclub! Here we are, 6 months down the line, planning a wedding for next year....
I met my partner through one of my good friends. It's always worth asking your mates if they have any single mates!
