I knew a similar cancer-sufferer whom we visited after a long flight abroad -we were informed that his years of fight were really due to end.
It was near-Christmas and his wife had dug out what I now know is called a "door-garland".
I said "oh, I don't like those 'wreaths'".
Our late friend smiled amusingly and said: "We don't talk about wreaths in this house". I said "sorry" but led by our late brave friend, we all laughed.
I hope that I can show the same bravery when my time comes.
