A couple of times i have started to bleed after having intercourse. Almost like having my period, although it wont last as long, couple of days. It's an uncomfortable feeling and i would like to find out what causes this, and should i see my GP?

I would definitely see your GP and get it sorted out.  You can't go on like that.
Topocco, I had this problem a few years ago and went to my GP about it.  After some investigations it turned out I had pollops (like skin tags but on the inside).  I was referred to Gynae (sp?) and I got an appointment to have them removed.  Doing this they used something to freeze everything on the inside and then just used a laser to swipe them off.  It wasn't painful at all and I didn't have any pain after the procedure either.  The only uncomfortable part about it was the thawing out afterwards, it was a weird sensation.  I have never had them back and that happened circa '97/97.  Hope this helps

Helps so much...thank you. At least i have some idea of what it may be. Will book an appoint. with GP - just wanted to find out if anyone had experienced the same thing before i went. Not very keen on my GP - not that helpful and just wants to rush the appointment. Thanks again.

Hi Topocco

If you're really not happy about seeing your GP then do you know if you've got a GUM Clinic (Genito-Urinary Medicine) in your area?  You should be able to self-refer and your problem is much more their area of expertise.

Good luck.
