Breast Cancer

Can anyone tell me what the process is after chemotherapy for breast cancer, when you go back after all the treatment what is it the doctors are looking for on the first visit back. Are they checking to see if the treatment has worked? or if it has spread? Can cancer still spread while you are on chemotherapy? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Then had breast removed, 6 weeks later had 2 more sessions of chemo, and lastly month of daily radio therapy. It was a trying time but that was 3 yrs ago, she still takes medication but is fine, still visits hospital but only once a year.
Hope this helps
Hi butterfly, I had a mastectomy nearly 4 years ago. The best advice I can give you is to go the Breast Clinic. Thay are very good and will answer all your Q's. I had a reconstruction a year after and I feel graet, I can wear a bikini now and no one would ever know. It's not a nice thing to have to go through but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hope all goes well for you if I can help I'll be here
Hi Butterfly - sorry I've only just answered to this question. My sister has just finished chemotherapy after 6 months. She had a lumpectomy first, followed by chemo and is currently undergoing radio, the scan she had last week showed no trace of cancer in her body at all. Hope this helps, if you need to know anything else let me know, I feel like an expert at the moment! Take care.
