I don't believe that anyone can comment on the situation until they've been there themselves. It's the hardest thing I have ever had to face. But I couldn't have brought an unwanted child into the world. It would just be stupid.
I do not really have any business answering this, as I am a man. But a girlfriend of mine became pregnant at a time when she could not keep it. I was not the father of the child, so all I can tell you is what I observed. She gave up the child for adoption and she put a note in the child's file with a bit of information about her and the circumstances. It was very painful for her, but she did her best for the child. The prospective families who wanted to adopt had to write a letter to her. She read everything and very carefully chose the parents for the child, doing her very best to care for it.
She went on to marry later and have a family. She has always had a pain in her heart from having to give up the child, but she did find some solace knowing that she did her absolute best to provide it the best home that she could.
