Ive always wondered that too missy. Its similar to the fact that if you eat before going to bed you wake up feeling hungry but it you go to bed on an empty stomach you wont be hungry till later on in the day. Strange.
If I don't get at least nine hours a night I'm wrecked the next day. Good for you if you can get by on 6!
good grief, give me 12 or give me death.

I believe we function natrually on a 48 hour cycle, but culturally, we fit ourselves into a 24 hour cycle.

So, ytou feel tired after a long sleep, but the day after that, you feel a lot better.

Similarly, you canhave a few hours sleep, not feel too bad the next day, but again, the day after, dreadful!

Welcome back Andy

Good to see you

I'm always tired, specially if I've been to the pub !! missyj

i am at my worst when i go for a sleep during the day and when i wake up i havn the energy to do anything i just dont understand it i have absolutely no energy all i can do is lie there. why is that i taught you were supposed to feel refreshed!!!!!!

to be boring and practical, could it be dehydration perhaps?  9 hours is a long time for the body to go without fluid intake.

Or perhaps the 6 hours a good deep sleep but the 9 are restless and fretful?

I know I need to get some sleep and can't at the moment, someone is stealing my sleep!

Good call, like that idea. Depends of course if your naturally hydrated normally.
so what do we do on times like this : we thank to caffeine!! :)
