Thanks everyone for advice yesterday. Have nothing but praise for the nhs today. Walked into surgery this morning at 7:60, seen by doctor at 8:10. He wasn't sure how to proceed so sent me home promising to call me when he'd spoken to an ophthalmologist at local hospital. Doctor called at 11:30, appointment at hospital at 12:00. Doctor seen, conjunctivitis confirmed, Exocin prescribed. Home for 2:00, medication in - very happy patient. Had a nap, still very stuck up but hopefully this course of antibiotics for two weeks will kill the thing dead.

Have taken all advice on board, thanks again everyone!
