Cardiac Ablation Not Allowed It For Atrial Fibrillation Annoyed

I saw cardiologist today and I had an ecg which showed i was in atrial fibrillation at the time however when he listened to my heart in his room it was back in normal rhythm sinus I told him I had been having it up to 8 hours at a time and it went back to normal rhythm itself he suggested a drug called flecanide I'd have to go into hospital for 4 days to be monitored not keen on that. I told him I was very keen on ablation procedure I'm only 43 and taking expensive blood thinners and beta blockers surely I would save the nhs money on medication by curing it. He said no they only do ablation for people who are in AF permanently. It does not make sense I know I'm at risk of heart failure if I am in it for 8 hours and he agreed that patients with AF are at higher risk of heart failure than those without it so why not cure it its crazy

If this was the NHS you were at today, they may not be keen on patients choosing which treatments they are keen on.
If you are set on this procedure, why not explore the possibilty of having it done privately?

I doubt you have the same knowledge base as the cardiologist, gordie.
Take their advice.....nobody is trying to do you any harm.
If you want to improve your heart condition, start by trying to get a bit fitter and see what happens.
Go for longer and longer walks round about your house....or even in your house if you can't get outside.
And stop googling your conditions. It is not helping.
