How Long Does It Take

Does anyone know long it take for the results of a Biopsy please.

OH had one taken last Friday..a bit worrying waiting now knowing how long the wait might be.

I never had the chance to ask anyone at the hospital.

Should be about a week. Ring the hospital and speak to the consultant' s Secretary - she will give you a more accurate answer.

I think it depends on the type of biopsy - give the department a quick ring tomorrow,they will give you a time scale.

cupotee.....I fear you may just be told that the results will be sent to the GP and that they will relay them,.....10 days is the usual length of time here.

Depending what the biopsy was for, they would contact you straight away if it was serious.

Consultants secretary been on leave until yesterday. I rang but just the answer machine..left my message asking if the results were back and waited for her to ring me back.

We had to go out in the afternoon so weren't here when the phone rang. Secretary left a message to say the results were back that morning and the consultant has written my husband a letter which should arrive soon.

He did this after the CT scan too when he arranged the further tests resulting in the recent biopsy. Apparently its the way things are done these days, presumably cutting down on appointments.

It didn't arrive today so we've been left to wait for the letter.

Hope it arrives tomorrow seeing as its weekend and no post Sunday.
