A Virus?

I had a sore throat yesterday, it was really painful on one side. Looked red with white patch. Today I have stayed in bed as I have no energy. Still eating however but taking paracetamol for the pain. Like swallowing razor blades. My limbs feely aching and a bit headache. Is it throat infection, or our old friend a virus?

Sounds like tonsillitis to me. You should see your GP , maybe you need some antibiotics. I have had it a few times and it is very painful, somehow wore at night, but clears up really quickly with the right medicine. Get well soon !

One sided symptoms, then my money would go on a bacterial infection.

Continue with the way that you are treating it, with paracetamol, drink plenty and perhaps have an easy day in bed or on the settee tomorrow.
If on Monday you are no better or worse, then seek medical advice.
