I have a mole on my face that sprouts half a dozen strong hairs. I had one removed 30 years ago and it was quite a palaver. Operating theatre, the full works. Have things moved on since then?
While this link deals with the removal of moles for medical (rather than cosmetic) purposes, it seems to indicate that it's usually done using only a local anaesthetic, so perhaps it's not such a tricky job these days?

I had a mole removed from my arm last year. It was a local anaesthetic and I had to keep the area dry for a couple of weeks. Had to have a shower with a plastic bin liner up my arm. That was attractive !!
