Sudden Dizzy Spell

Hi all hope your Xmas was as you wished , can anyone help , boxing night was watching tv when my eyes started to go blury and cudnt see tv properly then the room started to spin , also went very hot n sweaty , took my blood pressure which was 147/82 went to bed where room continued to spin , felt sick but wasn't actually sick , tossed n turned all night next day not as bad but head feels fuzzy and today slightly better but not back to normal yet , any advice what it was ? no i dont drink so wasnt drunk lol

I do know that you are on your late 40's, perhaps early 50's, but are your taking any tablets for any underlying medical problems?

Not typical of a heart problem, so that can be ruled out which does leave Menieres Attack as the bookie's odds on favourite.

It seems to be subsiding now, so my advice would be to monitor the situation over the next few weeks.

If you have another attack as worrying, or develop any other symptoms such as weakness in you arms or legs, then see you GP.

At the moment.......no big deal.

Thanks squad I am 52 and only tablets I take are for blood pressure losartan 2mg and amlopidine 5ng I never miss taking them

dizziness is one of the (occasional) side-effects of amlodipine, if I remember correctly.

jno.....many BP tablets cause "transient" attacks of dizziness, usually when the patient stands up.......however:

That doesn't sound postural or even transient.
