I used to wonder that when I was at college.
There was a gang of Hindu boys who all wore leather jackets as a gang thing, and yet all ate no meat, and some were quite vociferous about vegetarianism.
When I asked one of the lads about their leather jackets he admitted he hadn't thought about where the leather came from!
A few weeks later they had switched the gang wear to those American Football fleecey things with the letters embroidered on them.
Sometimes people just need you to ask "why" before they realise!
Can I add, in response to mullein's post, that a healthy veggie diet doesn't have to lead to anaemia or any health problems. I have been a vegan for almost 7 years and I'm pretty healthy! It just takes a little research and a good varied diet. Also, hopefully most veggies don't eat chicken when they are out! The thought of even touching meat makes me feel physically sick. I would never preach to anyone about my beliefs as I think so long as a person is happy with what they do then that's fine. that includes wearing leather.
