Formaldehyde in hair products

How do you identify Formaldehyde in hair products? Whenever you read the lablel they always give things their 'chemical' name or something like that so they are never called what they are called!

So, does Formaldehyde have any other names?

Fomaldehyde is aka

methanal, formalin, formol, methyl aldehyde, methylene oxide.

Although formaldehyde is a gas at room temperature, it is readily soluble in water, and it is most commonly sold as a 37% solution in water called by trade names such as formalin or formol.
