Sometimes when I go to the toilet for a number 1, it has a strong smell.  It happens to my boyfriend aswell and he describes the smell as 'sugar puffs!'  Does this happen to anyone else?  and if so do you know why?

i tend to get that first thing in the morning, you pee is always more concentrated then. Its all the chemicals and toxins have accumulated in your bladder overnight so its much more concentated than during the day when you go more regularly and have been drinking therefore diluting the toxins that cause the smell

Although mine only smells of sugar puffs after i eat them!

Just a suggestion ,try drinking 2 Litres of water a day  (about 8 glasses).This will help to clear your kidneys out and dilute the urine  and save the pain of getting stones in your kidneys in the future .Hope this helps .

If your wee smells of sugar puffs it could indicate there is glucose in it, which might suggest diabetes. It wouldn't hurt to get checked out.

That's funny, mfewell - when I eat marmite, my pee smells like marmite for at least 12 hours!

I read somewhere that your wee should be a very pale colour, if it is dark yellow and smells strong, (and as dorothywilso says), drinking lots of water will help - you can see the change in the colour (if you really want to look...)
