Does anyone have any experience and costings for bariatric surgery outside of the UK?

I am not thinking of Thailand but maybe Europe/USA.

Thank you

That wasn't what she was asking and a little unfriendly!
Islay - I thought about it but decided that it wouldn't suit me at all. Is your doctor of any help?

Last time that I checked my BMI was 52. It has been stable for a few years but my joints creak.

I don't eat excessively but I only leave the house when I have to. I am in constant pain and can't walk far or stand for any length of time. It is much more complicated that you would think baths.

On the bright side - my dodgy mental health has prevented me from being able to work for a living for quite a few years.
I strongly recommend you discuss your options with your GP or even a private consultant in the UK to find which type of surgery, if any, is the best solution for you. There are many options, some of which are permanent and invasive.

When you know for sure what you want, then you get prices for the procedure in the UK and abroad. If you are morbidly obese and have other health problems such as diabetes you MAY be entitled to NHS treatment, then you can spend your money on removing the inevitable loose skin which many people find more distressing than the fat.
I have yet to meet a fat person who hasn't tried many diets and exercise regimes.
I have met many who have lost the weight, put it back on, lost it again, and on and on. It is depressing and disheartening.
Wolf you just need to pull yourself together!!
My wife supported someone that used an app to lose weight, she lost 6 stone.
Yes, gavmacp + Wolfie, it was a little insensitive of me.

I do sincerely apologise, Islay.

Thank you for responses I have spoken to my gp and consultant . The consultant suggested surgery but I would have to pay for it as not available on NHS. It was my gp that suggested going abroad
Question Author
Baths I didn't see your response but I am sure it's no worse than I have had said to me in the street xx
I would speak to the GP again and ask him to recommend somewhere or at least put you in touch with somebody who can guide you
Islay - people say cruel things to you in the street? (and Baths, I also didn't see the comment so not saying it was cruel)
Question Author
Oh yes when you are overweight people assume that gives them the right to say what they want to you.

Because fat people don't have any feelings!
Has the GP advised you about the type of surgery you need?
Question Author
hc I can't see the GP recommending somewhere and the consultant did but they wanted £10000+

Gastric bypass
Islay...I don't want to pry and tell me to bog off if you want. Are these random people that comment? I get comments on my weight but only from people I know.
Question Author
Oh random people!

Have you ever read the comments on a story in the daily mail that features a fat girl? That's the sort of thing I have had in the street.
Eg
Your disgusting don't you know there are people starving
Can't you have some self control
You would be pretty if you lost weight
God girl have some self control
Oh and the most original
Hey fatso looked in a mirror lately?
And to keep on topic....why rule out Thailand? My aunt has a house there and had a boobie job. She said the care was second to none and it was half the price of here.
