My husband is starting a cold and has a sore throat. Short of sending him to live in a hotel, how can I best avoid catching his germs? No kissing obviously.

Go on holiday without him...
its airborne as well as contact borne so not possible to completely avoid. Have him cough and sneeze into a handkerchief and throw it away. Loads of handwashing for both of you. Don’t share towels or drinking vessels. There is a cold preventing nasal spray which is said to be clinically proven...actually there are now two...Coldzyme and First Defence

I was always told you're more contagious when the cold is incubating (3 days before it breaks) So you're spreading it before you even know you have it!
Send him to his mum
You've probably already caught them.
he's got man flu, you'll only get a cold

Just don't touch anything he touches. That includes doorknobs, banister rails, taps, crockery etc - unless you wear rubber gloves.
I concur with aelmpvw.
You would!.
snigger!
A full burka
You've probably already caught "his germs". You'll be on here Thursday complaining of a sore throat...
"No kissing obviously". Seriously??? That sounds like punishment, not a caring partner.
Too late if you have caught his germs already, otherwise two Echinacea toda, one a day for a week. Also a Zinc tablet daily. Get down to Holland and Barrett.. also a spray of Covonia in throat works wonders, from Boots.
Also try to leave windows open to get rid of germs, and spray Covonia where hubby sleeps, sits etc... Obviously not when is sitting there !!!
