I assume you have taken it before.Although in saying that people even in later life can develop intolerances to food etc.

You undoubtedly had an allergic reaction to this particular wine. Were you eating something along with it?

Go to the docs and advice him and also have Piriton in your cupboard. Some wines have additives which are not apparent.Be careful x

My mother has been affected the exactly same way in just the last few years - since about 49.  Particularly with sparkling white wine. Just the tiniest sip sets her off.  I'll watch this thread for any more info.  Can't help I'm afraid, but very best wishes.
I have always had lots of it with no problems, but recently a Blossom Hill left me feeling like death - upset tummy, nausea, tremendous headache - urgh!

i am frutose intollerant and cannot drink wine due to an allergy.  do you eat apples, pears and grapes?   you need to get some anti-histamines to reduce the reaction.

I used to be able to drink wine no problem but now after one little sip I can feel my head start to pound a wee while later.  It's a really bad headache, I don't get them with anything else.  Needless to say I don't touch wine anymore.

I have an allergic reaction every time i drink red or white wine and some other alchol drinks also. however I can drink a red shiraz  which i find strange but it has been sugested that the shiraz is less acidic than the others!

when I have drunk wine in the past it makes my face flush and the glands in my throat feel like they are on fire it is the worst pain ever but will die down after I have a piriton tablet.  Does anyone else have these symtoms?
