Hi, I had a cholesterol level of 11.9 before I went on statins and is now down to around 5.5. After a visit to the doctor a while back he said he was quite happy with that but not with my Triglyceride level which was over 500 so I was put on another tablet for this too. Is this the one you are talking about with the numbers you mention. The doctor told me to cut back on processed foods.
one more point, i remember my other blood test about 4months ago, and there were 2 important readings to look at, the low+the high cholestrol, well my new blood test reading just gave me my total cholestrol, which was as i said 178. wonder why it changed. surely the readout should contain both the low+the high readings? unless its worded diferently. my doc who i barely understand(my spanish is not that great) did say as i could make out theres nothing to worry about, everything is aok!!
