Do I need to the doc or will the nurse do?

Sounds like cystitis. Owch ! You may need a Pee test and antibiotics. See your GP and drink loads and loads of water to wash out the bacteria. Poor thing, I sympathize.

They should be able to advise you on the phone if a nurse will do, there are nurse practitioners at my doctors who can treat all kinds of minor ailments and they should be able to check, given your symptoms if a nurse can help or you should be seeing a doctor.
Our practice has a phone back scheme where a GP or nurse calls you and, if appropriate, they then arrange the right appointment for you, if yours has anything like that?
I have quite a few water infections and try to drink lots of water and cranberry juice to help as well. Due to the high sugar, cranberry juice can be diluted with water too.

Important to get it checked, male or female, I had an awful one a few months ago, was e coli, and was difficult to shift and took two lots of antibiotics, so the earlier the better really.
If an infection is suspected they may also send the sample off to the lab to check which antibiotics should work on it.
