Colonoscopy

I'm due to have a colonoscopy on Friday at 13.00, and have been given 3 doses of senna and box of moviprep. Do I have the senna on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night or Tue, Wed and Thurs. The moviprep is 16.00 on Thurs and 6.00 on Fri? The prep on it's own was not sufficient apparently last time so I get the senna as well this time.

Have you been given written instructions with the medication? Or there may be information on the bottles/sachets

Thanks for responses - the instructions didn't give info for taking senna and moviprep. Hosp leaflet says take senna 3 days/nights before admittance. Take moviprep on Thurs at 16.00 and Friday at 06.00. Would taking on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night be more effective as I can't eat on Thursday?

The hospital instructions left a bit to be desired - they had different timings from Moviprep instructions which they also sent to me!

The instructions for the senna suggest you should take it Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I can't see a reason to vary that but sqad may know or ask yourdoctor

I had to drink about 3 litres of Moviprep the evening before the Colonoscopy, that was hard going as it tastes horrible.

Very effective though ;-)

Oh poor Allie ! It 's a great test to have done, but I find the preparation is the worst part. But after, you will feel so clean you won't want to eat ! Good luck
