HI to anyone who can help , my partner aged 62' is going through hell we think a filling has fallen out as when he drinks or eats he is in agony the pain so bad we have no oil's of iodine etc., can does anyone know a good remedy appreciate and thank you.

Well if you can't get an emergency dentist find an open pharmacy - they all sell temporary filling stuff (like a putty you put in the hole yourself) and clove oil and painkillers.

IMO paracetamol helps me but also I do know that if one's ferritin (iron) is low, then pain in teeth will be exacerbated and be pure hell. Hope they see a dentist soon to be sorted. Best of luck.

Have to echo others here. Emergency treatment at a dentist. Unsure how many are open on a Saturday evening but try Yellow Pages or something.

Even an A&E, or drop-in department as the seem to have now, at the local hospital may be able to offer pain relief. Or a late night chemist ?

Until your partner can get to a dentist sengas , I agree with the temporary filling kits combined with good painkillers.

Toothache can in fact be very painful as can many many other ailments .

Yes, we know that - if you went to your GP with a suspected stomach ulcer, would you be happy if he sent you away voicing the same things??

Perhaps you have cancer at the moment , hence your preoccupation - but trust me if you got toothache on top you'd still be in pain and want a resolution.

Toothache is one of the worse pains in my opinion and I have been through a lot of pain in my time. How insensitive of Thingers.

I was on a long weekend in the Lake District once, when a nagging ache in a molar exploded into the most horrendous pain - no sleep for me with a tooth on fire and screaming when any saliva touched it.

I rang my dentist in W. Yorks. 1st thing Sun. morning and was given an emergency number in Skipton to call. Did so, was told to come in, drove agonising miles and was met by a kind dentist who numbed the pain and did a bit of drilling. He also logged me with an urgent appt. with my dentist the next day - I had an abscess and required a killed nerve and a canal root filling.

That was some pain, believe me, worse than losing a filling (I've done that too). I suggest you do the same. i.e. ring dentist and get emergency number for tomorrow.

you can buy something called ToofyPegs from a pharmacy. My local Tesco pharmacy has this. Like previous people have said, it is like a putty which enables you to fill the cavity where the nerve is obviously exposed. Tooth pain is awful, so I sympathise
