Do any of you have these in your area? I am sure they used to be about but they seem to have disappeared in my area.

Just wondering what the most efficient way to get post menopausal advice is?

A nurse practitioner seems a better route than cluttering up a GPs daily appointment load.

looking back, I started symptoms at about 42....menopause proper early 50’s and at 63, still getting the flushes and occasional dizziness
Oh no woof, too too long :-(
apparently it falls within the parameters of normal, Anne.
anyone with nightsweats - i'm freezing a hot water bottle before i go to bed, wrap that in a towel and sleep with it as a pillow, works a treat. doesn't help at work when i have sweat pouring off me though :-(

*** hormones :-(
Am going to disagree slightly with some of Sqad's advice. Swimming is great for general fitness, but will not help avoid osteoporotic changes as it is not weight bearing. Walking would be better as the stress put on the bones encourages maintenance of bone density.
I agree with the post of cambellking.........my answer was general advice for the post menopausal woman, not just for the prevention of osteoporosis.
