A year ago I decided to have highlights to help blend in the grey hair that I have. I've had it done twice more since as I really like how my hair looks. I really should go more often but it costs £95 a time! I have been doing my roots with John Frieda blonde lightener. Is this the best way of doing it is or is there a better (or cheaper) way? TIA

Have you discussed half head and alternate T-Bars with you hairdresser?
Hilites gently blend lighter tones to hide grey hair & make natural regrowth less obvious. Using a root lightener will produce block blonde tint that will soon contrast & show your natural regrowth.

how long is your hair & what is your natural color.

My natural colour is a mix between light brown with blondish bits! I've always described it as mousey.

It's just below my shoulders.
Hi. I've just had my hair highlighted ash blonde to blend in with a few grey hairs coming through. In between highlights use a purple or blue toned hair shampoo that will keep your highlights from turning yellow. If you try and lighten just the roots your hair will only go down a couple of shades producing a brassy colour. You could always try putting in a few of your own highlights at the roots. You can buy kits that you don't need to use a Cap for, just comb in the highlights where you need them.

Are you totally grey or do do you just have a few grey bits? If the latter, I'd go for a total dye like the one Davina McCall advertises -sorry can't remember its name right now - in your own hair colour.
