A friend I work with is ill at the moment and hasn't eaten since Christmas Day, she says she can't stomach it, she is also coming out in bruises.

Her words. She sent me a pic of her legs, two large red blotches and a few small dark bruises.
"" The red ones are god knows I got them everywhere and then them bruises are everywhere""

And this"" I had a couple on my back but I've got bad belly pains pains in my ribs and my lower back.

Any ideas.?

Henoch-Schonlein Purpura.
That springs immediately to mind.
An immune response to one's own blood vessels.......usually , no big deal and goes away on it's own.
Google it.
