Hi everyone.....Belated Happy New Year.....

Great start to the year as just got out of hospital with a bleeding duodenal ulcer.....had endoscopy and had ulcer repaiired and on drip for fluids and antibiotics in hospital .......Loads of antibiotics to take for the week....and have cancelled gigs booked and got other DJ mates to cover.....Off radio show for a while too.

Can anyone suggest soft foods to eat while healing as doctors just said soft foods? No dietician seen.
Any reply greatly appreciated and TIA x

Maybe my mate Sqad will see this bless him, when he's not playing snooker or eyeing up the girls in Menorca....Good man :-)

Nice to see you o the mend. Try this for starters:

Milk and other dairy products, low-fat or fat-free only
Cooked, canned, or frozen vegetables
Fruit juices and vegetable juices (some people, especially those with GERD, may want to avoid citrus)
Breads, crackers, and pasta made with refined white flour
Refined, hot cereals, such as Cream of Wheat (farina cereal)
Lean, tender meats, such as poultry, whitefish, and shellfish that are steamed, baked, or grilled with no added fat
Creamy peanut butter
Pudding and custard
Eggs
Tofu
Soup, especially broth
Weak tea
Sounds ok Yogi as 237 says go for soft textures and avoid too much acidity or spice for now.

Great excuse to tuck into some custard - mend soon.x

Didn't you have the sedative yogi? I had endoscopy Monday, had sedative and throat spray. All I remember is gagging for a couple of seconds then slept for 40 minutes!
Question Author
Lucky you, Patsy.x...Cant remember if they gave me throat spray.........Felt quite a bit but must have zonked out, as all i remember is hearing the four nurses and doctor chatting after procedure x

I hate being ill, but on the plus side, they checked out most of me and seems ok.

And I never weeeed so much in my life.....On fluids only, for a few days.....Nil by mouth.
Oh that's good. Just be careful what you eat and drink :-( I was told I have Gastritis and haitus hernia.. OH and son going to put wood blocks under top of bed later, so acid doesn't keep rising. Take care x
Don't rush, you've been quite Ill.eat often and small amounts. It's best to be at home, if you're tired sleep, it's a great healer.

Hopefully you'll be and feel better when OH and son do that..... You take care and thanks again, Patsy x
