I have my friends - but they are two sisters.

1.. In home

2. In home different homes

They both have Dementia/Alzheimers.

Now within the next month I hope to visit them and because they are in birdie land.

Can anybody tell me what fun things could I do.

First would be to read them poet book

Even a children's nursery book

Any more suggestions of a book/

Am looking for more ideas as I want to get response from as they are at that stage at the mo.

Perhaps I could bend their ears with a little singing.

Any help for these visits. thanks

Singing is often good- especially if their language isn't so great- or recorded music. Books are such personal taste and it depends how long they focus for, but old rhymes probably, yes.
A friend bought her mum a photo book with lots of old photos that she had printed and also a wildlife book with lots of photos in it. Her mum loved them.
Reading a book is a good idea. Their favourite books from childhood.

Maybe a hand massage and manicure.

Watching a DVD of a well-loved film.
JJ, my aunt has alzheimers I visit her every Saturday afternoon. I just talk to her about every day stuff, you know family, friends and things like that. I listen to what she say's and go with the flow.

They may like you to read to them.
Sometimes it's best to let them the lead, don't ask them questions, and don't correct any information they give you, maybe take in a local newspaper.
Good for you Tony :-)
anne, she may have alzheimers but she knows when it's Saturday afternoon !.
Folks in this condition like to see old photos from the past, especially of their families.
Photos are a good idea from trt. Even if your friends don't remember the faces, you can talk about the people and chat about any memories you have of them and stories you've heard.
Music :-)

Indulge their questions, however repetitive and however childlike. Listen, and help. Just be a friendly face. Great suggestions so fa with reading and photographs.

I hope you enjoy visiting your friends :-)
