Collapsed Lung Or Blood Clot

Any medical folk pls?

Hubby today very ill indeed. Gp suspect pneumothorax or long clot. Sent him to hosp for chest X-ray and hoping to get him see. In a "chest clinic" outpatient tomo.

Has had 1 daltaparin(fragmin) Jab tonight .

Thing is after chest X-ray they sent him home (straight away I don't think report even seem by radiologist)

Tonight I'm so worried. He's in a lot of pain and surely he should be on Tho is sleeping on and off-

Sorry pressed send before I was done. Surely he should be in hospital is wgay I meant. Gp was worried enough to send him straight to hosp bsp why then discharge him. I mean if it's a clot it can shift (and he get pulmonary empvolism) if it's collapsed lung he needs oxygen?

Why have they sent him home??!!

If he is worse than he was earlier then I'd advise making a phone call, get some advice at the very least.

It a lung clot or pneumothorax was suspected, he would not have been sent home. Both conditions would be secondary to something else....deep vein thrombosis or chronic lung disease which would have been picked up by the hospital.
If you feel his condition is deteriorating...shortness of breath, then take him back to A&E.

I have just re-read your post and assume from what you have said, that he hasn't seen a hospital doctor........if that is so...who gave him the Fragmin?
I am a bit confused here......did he just have a chest X-Ray or did he see a hospital doctor as well?

I would call an ambulance, Eve.....let paramedics check him over to see if he needs to go to A&E..... they will give him the best care.....and please try not to worry.

Well not long after I posted i called ambulance. He's been admitted. Not pneumothorax, not pulmonary embolism.... but suspected septicaemia. They pumping him full of IV antibiotics. Squad he never saw hosp doctor. The fragmin was from a prescription which gp gave me and Injected it myself on dr say so.

So glad I called ambulance. Gut instinct and logic said he was a very ill man

After the performance with doctors when I lost my Mum, I'm not sure I'll ever trust a doctor again (apart from Sqad) Wishing your Hubby all the best Eve and try not to worry too much xxx

There seems to be a developing attitude where we (the public) feel we should not be using/disturbing ,health professionals /hospitals/gp's. Eve thankfully you trusted you're instincts and knew you're husband was unwell and took action, I hope his condition improves, and he ot had a very good day .
